Bronx residents living at Parkchester North Condominiums say they’re tired of seeing piles of garbage on a daily basis.
They claim garbage in the condominium development goes uncollected for days.
A mattress, mounds of discarded boxes and a couch are just some of the garbage that was seen piled on the curb.
Neighbors tell News 12 they pay good money to own a condo in the Parkchester development, while some rentals can start upwards of $1,500 a month.
They say they’re not getting what they paid for when trash sits uncollected for days. They say their claims have fallen on deaf ears.
News 12 reached out to the Department of Sanitation. They say that they haven’t experienced any recent issues with the development and added that Parkchester North has containized collection, which means management is responsible for trash pick up at each of its buildings.
DSNY released a statement saying, “When used properly, containerized collection is a cleaner and more efficient method of collections at large residential buildings like these, as the waste is contained in a sealed compacting container until collection occurs.”
