Bronx residents lined up at the post office Wednesday, the final day to get packages delivered before Christmas using priority mail.
Friday is the deadline to send mail using Priority Mail Express to get packages to loved ones in time for the holiday.
"We are like Santa, [but] we don't have the benefit of a sleigh and reindeer and the skies. So we have to get something that works, which takes a little longer, but our goal is to make sure it's there before Christmas," says Xavier Hernandez, of the Postal Service.
The US Postal Service has brought in an additional 31,000 workers nationwide to handle the holiday shipping frenzy.
