Residents who live near 700 Gerard Ave. tell News 12 that the empty lot has been filled with trash for too long.

Neighbors say the trash has created a rat community, and News 12 crews even caught a rodent on camera.

News 12 was told the empty lot also draws a bad crowd, a bad smell and is an eyesore. The city had plans to make it a school back in 2019, but those plans were not followed through.
