Restaurant employment hit a major milestone in September -- finally inching past pre-pandemic levels for the first time.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says food service outlets added over 60,000 jobs last month.
This puts restaurant jobs at roughly 30,000 above the February 2020 number.
Still, there is a need for more workers with data showing roughly 1.2 million job openings in August.
