Reynoso, Gibson deliver remarks on wins in borough president elections
The winners in the Bronx and Brooklyn borough president races delivered remarks after their official victories on election night.
Democrat Antonio Reynoso made history Tuesday night becoming the first Latino elected as Brooklyn borough president. In his victory speech, Reynoso referenced his childhood saying he grew up with nothing and now made it to borough president. He thanked his wife and his mother for supporting him throughout his life and career.
In the Bronx, Vanessa Gibson came out on top in the race for borough president. Supporters gathered in Westchester Square Wednesday night as Gibson shattered the glass ceiling. She thanked her supporters, saying young girls that see her will now be able to see themselves.
