RISE of the Jack O'Lanterns lights up Long Island with thousands of carved pumpkins
From Ozzy Osbourne rocking out in pumpkin form to Renaissance masterpieces like Van Gogh and Mona Lisa, the display blends spooky with spectacular.
It's one of Long Island's most glowing fall traditions, and it's back for another season of spooky fun.
Thousands of carved pumpkins are lighting up the night at RISE of the Jack O'Lanterns, transforming a nearly 1-mile trail into a glowing gallery of art, pop culture and Halloween creativity.
The attraction, now in its 14th season, was started by Thomas Olton and Michael Pollock, and it's only "glowed up" since.
"We like to celebrate our favorite things from the year, unfortunately Ozzie's passing was a major cultural event so we're celebrating his life here with his music and his image rendered and made in pumpkin," said Olton.
From Ozzy Osbourne rocking out in pumpkin form to Renaissance masterpieces like Van Gogh and Mona Lisa, the display blends spooky with spectacular. Visitors will also spot carvings inspired by "Minecraft," "K-Pop Demon Hunters" and "Wednesday."
"We carve pumpkins continuously throughout the weeks," explained Olton.
Whether it's the spooky, the silly or the seriously stunning jack-o'-lanterns people come to see, it is a stop that is worth the drive this Halloween season.
The attraction uses Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts campus in Wheatley Heights.
