Justin Sanchez is only 30 years old and already known as an up-and-coming political powerhouse from the Bronx borough.
"Community is where the heart is and we have to give back to our home," Sanchez says.
Born and raised in the Bronx, Sanchez's passion drives the work that he does. As the chief of staff for Assemblymember Nathalia Fernandez and the president of the Stonewall Democrats, Sanchez is always on the go.
"The best way to get anything you want in this life and the best way that you're going to live a happy and full life is just being yourself."
Sanchez says he's proud to lead the largest LGBTQ+ political club in the city and wants to make sure people know policy decisions shouldn't be siloed.
"Every issue is an LGBTQ+ issue. When we're talking about housing, when we're talking about food insecurity," Sanchez explains.
As the grandson of immigrants, he's proud to say he's living the American dream and is inspired by his grandmother's legacy. He says his personal goal is for people to just be their authentic selves.
Sanchez just finished up a master's at NYU in public administration and as for what's next, he wouldn't be opposed to a run for office one day. As of now, he's laser focused on the work ahead.
