The Riverdale Presbyterian Church and its nursery school are fighting to part ways. The church and school have shared the same space and name for over 50 years, but now they are divided over money. School officials say they have been planning to leave the church for years. They say they need more space to expand, but six months ago their plans were stopped. Officials say the church doesn?t want the school to leave and the church froze the school?s assets, including money for teachers? salaries and classroom equipment. Parents and teachers from the school protested the church?s actions Sunday. They say they can?t negotiate with the church and plan to go to court.
