The city Department of Design and Construction is siding with Riverdale drivers who claim they were unfairly ticketed earlier this month.
Anyone parked on Greystone Avenue between West 238th Street to West 242nd Street was issued a $60 summons after “No Standing” signs were installed as part of an ongoing construction project to replace water and sewer lines.
Assemblyman Jeffery Dinowitz says the tickets were given out to “innocent people who did not deserve the summons.” He says the public must be given 24-hour notice about any new restrictions to street parking.
After reaching out, the assemblyman got a letter from the DCC that states: “The No Parking signs were posted without the adequate advance time notices for the public.”
Drivers who received parking on tickets on Nov. 6-7 are urged to get a copy of the DDC letter from the assemblyman’s website.
