The Little Caribbean in Brooklyn is a spot New Yorkers can get a look and taste of the tropics without leaving the Big Apple.
The Little Caribbean is home to the iconic West Indian Day Parade. It's a slice of central Brooklyn considered the most diverse Caribbean-American-Latinx community outside of the West Indies and home to 20% of the city's Caribbean population.
There's something for everyone, from the trend-setting salons to specialty stores. A trip to the area wouldn't be complete without indulging in some of the restaurants, where visitors can find some famous dishes packed with flavor. Caribbean culture is alive and well in Brooklyn, and the cuisine speaks for itself.
Along Flatbush Avenue, roughly 3 miles are packed with culture, community and booming business. Whether coming to learn about the culture, support Black-owned businesses or savor incredible foods, there is something for everyone.
