As Women's History Month comes to an end, News 12 is highlighting a women-owned event space in Park Slope.
The space started as a fitness studio before owners decided to pivot during the pandemic and turn it into a gathering space for the community. From celebrating the big day to hosting a small gathering, Atrium 82 brings the community together for parties, dinners and a variety of social events. It's an intimate gathering space known for its luxury décor.
Co-owner Danielle Edwards-Clarke says it once started as a fitness location before she had to pivot due to pandemic-related challenges.
"This is something I've actually always wanted to do. And this is something that we've talked about doing and the space is so beautiful," says Edwards-Clarke.
Edwards-Clarke teamed up with her sister-in-law Mariama Clarke, who owns her own event planning company MDC Event Design.
Together, the two have brought their dreams to life. Over the past year, the space held baby showers, bridal showers and a number of birthday parties. Both are hoping Atrium 82 will continue to grow.
