A Bronx dental clinic is providing free, unique emergency kits to parents this summer.
The kit from Saint Barnabas Pediatric Dental Clinic includes a "toothprint," which can be used to help authorities identify a missing child. A patient simply has to bite down on a wafer for about a minute, and an imprint is embedded into the thermal plastic.
Parents are given the imprints with the curvature, positioning and size of their child's teeth to take home. Unlike X-rays, the toothprints go a step further and provide saliva samples.
