Santa Claus paid an early visit to a school in the Bronx Tuesday to hand out gifts to students with special needs.
Three volunteers dressed as jolly old Saint Nick and handed out toys to over 800 students at P.S. 811X in West Farms.
Educators say most of the students at the school are physically disabled or suffer from intellectual challenges.
They say it is important that the students are recognized so that they can become more independent.
The toys were donated to the school by the Bronx Rotary Club and the Sons of Italy.
This is the eighth year the school has partnered with charitable organizations who donated Christmas gifts to students.
