Students at P.S. 31 in Greenpoint are tasting and voting on meals that will soon be on their school lunch menu.
After tasting five different meals, the students were given a paper to write down their thoughts on it and check a yes or no box to determine if they liked it or not.
Today’s menu consisted of apple crisps, twin manicottis, falafel nuggets, salsa with tortilla chips, and pineapple tidbits.
Fourth grader Aliah says she enjoyed trying out the new foods because she feels that the lunch at P.S. 31 could use some help. “I think my school lunches can be better because they need more flavor,” said Aliah.
The Greenpoint students were not the only ones who got the chance to put their favorite food items on the school lunch menu. During the 2020-2021 school year, 1,890 students across the city were able to participate in menu choices.
