Police confirm second fatality in Tremont quadruple shooting

Devren Smith, 37, died following the death of his brother, 24-year-old Jeremiah Smith, after police say they were both shot in the torso.

Police have confirmed that a second victim died on Sunday as a result of Friday’s quadruple shooting in Tremont.  
Devren Smith, 37, died following the death of his brother, 24-year-old Jeremiah Smith, after police say they were both shot in the torso. 
Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument that started outside of the Popeyes at East Tremont Avenue and Hughes Avenue.   
The two other men who were shot are currently expected to survive, according to authorities.  
Police have arrested two men in connection to the shooting. Salvatore Rivera, 51, has been charged with murder, manslaughter, assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Jose Parilla, 32, has been charged with murder, attempted murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
