Several businesses are shut down Monday morning after a roof collapse Sunday night in Mill Basin.

The incident took place on Avenue T where a 75-foot lock brick parapet wall collapsed. Dolly's Ices, Elegant Blossoms, A Flower Shop, Pallet BK, a clothing store and a mini mart were among the six businesses affected by the damage. The collapse left bricks covering the sidewalk.

The Department of Buildings issued a full vacate order for the structure. The owner of the building was issued a violation for failure to maintain the building and ordered to install a construction fence around the front and the side of the building.

Everyone inside the building at the time was able to make it out safely, but the neighbors in the area are still shaken.

The Department of Buildings will be working with engineers and the owner of the building to make repairs.
