A program that began in the Bronx helping sexual abuse victims is now expanding to other boroughs. The Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) brings together rape counselors and forensic experts at hospitals to handle the cases. More than 700 rape and sexual abuse cases have been treated at Bronx public hospitals in a test run of the program. The mayor says it's all about reaching victims quickly and getting the evidence critical to prosecuting the attackers. As part of the expansion, a team of about 20 trained professionals will travel to public hospitals throughout the city around the clock to work with victims.
