A recent rash of shootings and robberies in Parkchester has local residents concerned.
Community Board 9 Chair William Rivera met with 43rd Precinct officials to address the crimes, which have been centered along an eight-block stretch that includes White Plains Road and Archer and Guerlain streets.
The most recent incident occurred last Tuesday on Leland Avenue when a 21-year-old was fatally shot just steps away from his home.
Rivera says the root of the problem lies in the recidivism of violent criminals.
Stationary and foot patrols have been deployed to the area.
