A wide
hole in the center of a Morris Park street is causing concern amongst
neighbors, who want it to be fixed immediately before it grows or causes
someone to get hurt.
The
sinkhole on Van Nest Avenue has made it difficult for the residents to navigate
the one-way street. Cones are around it to warn drivers, but it
doesn’t leave much room for people to avoid the gaping hole.
Residents
told News 12 that it has been there for roughly two weeks near the intersection
of Fowler and Van Nest avenues. One neighbor said they have
called 911, 311 and the FDNY for a long-term fix.
Another
smaller sinkhole can be found on the 900 block of Van Nest Avenue.
