The death of an infant whose godmother was baby sitting at her Mott Haven home is under investigation.
Neighbors say they were shocked to see paramedics wheel the 17-month-old girl out on a stretcher Sunday from 235 Cypress Ave. Police say the baby was staying with her godmother and the godmother?s boyfriend, who often watched the child. Relatives say the baby was found unconscious hours after being put to sleep about 9 p.m. Saturday.
Authorities say there were signs of bruises on the girl. A medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
