A fire broke out Wednesday afternoon inside a warehouse in Red Hook.

FDNY officials said the blaze started after 12:30 p.m. at 700 Columbia St.

Video posted on the Citizen App shows thick black clouds of smoke filling the air.

Officials say at least 25 businesses are operating at the warehouse. Each of them are storing various items, like refrigeration materials, food, household items, manufacturing products and more.

The area is no stranger to huge fires.

At an adjacent warehouse there is a city impound. Property was destroyed there during a massive fire in 2022 and again in November 2024, before a third fire erupted last January.
