Tenants at the Soundview Houses along Rosedale Avenue say they're freezing inside their own apartments.
They say that heat in the complex has been sporadic at best since January. Most of the time, residents say they have no heat at all, and this upcoming weekend, forecasts show temperatures could hit record lows.
Residents told News 12 The Bronx that they have no choice but to boil water and use space heaters until the heating issue is resolved. Many have also been wearing winter clothes and hats indoors.
An employee of the management company said she was not allowed to speak with News 12. NYCHA says it's aware of the issue and is looking into the matter. The Housing Authority says that there are five boilers in the building, and all are functional.
