Maribel Gonzalez, owner of the Puerto Rican restaurant South of France, says she has made the decision to shut down her Soundview business after decades of serving the community.

Gonzalez says this decision was not made lightly, and she is grateful for the customers who have stayed by her side throughout the years.

She says she decided to sell the restaurant due to recent family health concerns.

"It makes me feel like crying.. then again, these days are very sensitive," said Gonzalez.

While Gonzalez is saying goodbye to the restaurant, she will continue cooking her authentic Puerto Rican meals through catering services.

She says a final closing date has not been determined yet.

More information about the South of France can be found here.
