? A Bronx soup kitchen reopened its doors Wednesday after a robbery forced it to close last month.
The Greater Universal Baptist Church on 153rd St. closed its soup kitchen in February after a robber stole thousands of dollars and equipment. Church leaders say the Yankees stepped up to the plate by donating $20,000. Other groups, including a construction company, donated labor to install a steel door to prevent future thefts. Police have not made any arrests in the case.
Bronx resident Bobby Wright says he is thankful the kitchen is open again. The church says hundreds depend on the program to provide meals.
