A school in the Bronx is closed today because of positive coronavirus cases.
South Bronx Educational Campus on Saint Ann’s Avenue, which houses two schools, will be closed today to students and staff
According to the city’s daily COVID-19 case map, the building has been shut down.
Students who’ve been coming for in-person learning will most likely switch to remote until the building reopens.
News 12 is told University Heights Secondary School in this building had closed down a classroom on Oct. 14 and was set to reopen today. That means either a teacher or student tested positive in that classroom for COVID-19. In order for the Department of Education to close down a building the school has to have at least two cases linked together in school.
As of now, the building is scheduled to reopen to students and staff Thursday.
