With warm weather in their favor, some Bronx students with special needs got a jump on Halloween with a hayride Thursday.
Students at the New York Institute for Special Education participated in the tractor hayride and then picked their own pumpkins at the school.
On Friday, the students will dress up in their favorite costumes and go trick-or-treating on campus.
The school -- which educates children who are visually impaired, emotionally and learning disabled, and developmentally delayed -- has held these activities for about 28 years.
