St. Barnabas Hospital celebrates discharge of 500th COVID-19 patient
St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx is celebrating the discharge of its 500th COVID-19 patient Wednesday.
"It's an achievement for my life, but they are the ones who deserve all the recognition and applause,” said Adrian Luna, who was released after battling coronavirus at the hospital.
The 48-year-old is going home to his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.
Luna was admitted to St. Barnabas Hospital two weeks ago and finally won his battle against the coronavirus Wednesday.
Front-line workers joined him in celebrating from inside the hospital and so did the FDNY.
It is a reminder that although the fight continues, there is hope that at the end of the tunnel for many patients, and also for those who treat them.
