St. Joseph High School in Trumbull hosted a ‘Still Hungry’ Stuff-A-Bus food drive this weekend to help local pantries.
Four school buses were filled with donations, which will benefit the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, the Sterling House Community Center and the Thomas Merton Center.
Organizers say they wanted to give back because local food pantries tend to be empty in the winter. It also brought students together for a good cause.
“We found out through the local pantries the numbers of people that are hungry and have food insecurity…it's so exciting that we're going to be able to do this for all of those who are in need,” says Deacon Jeff Font.
This was the school's first Stuff-A-Bus food drive.
