Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons announced Tuesday that she has given birth to a baby girl, and she is now on maternity leave.
Lily Elizabeth Linares was born at Stamford Hospital on Monday.
"Her three big brothers were excited to meet Lily, and we can't wait to bring her home," said Simmons.
Jeffrey Curtis, president of the Board of Representatives, will serve as acting mayor until Simmons returns to the job.
