Think fencing — but with lightsabers.
The fights aren’t choreographed. Students learn real combat techniques, including footwork, movement and how to safely use a lightsaber during sparring.
"There's a little bit of wish fulfillment happening, you know, because people get to be like, yeah, I lightsaber fight on one of my nights during the week. We often say, you know, show up for the lightsaber, stay for the community," an instructor said.
No experience is required, making it a chance for beginners and longtime "Star Wars" fans alike to learn how to fight like a Jedi.
