State launches program designed to help residents find employment

Gov. Ned Lamont has announced a $70 million investment to help Connecticut residents find work.
The state launched Career Connect Tuesday - a program that targets the people most underrepresented in the workforce.
It will provide short-term job training for in-demand careers in manufacturing, health care, IT and more.
Career Connect will also address other barriers to work with free supportive services like child care and transportation.
"Every single company that's looking at the state of Connecticut asked me about workforce, workforce, workforce. There's a global search for talent all over the world and for them to be here, and grow here, and expand here, we've got to do everything we can to make sure we have the trained, skilled labor ready to go," said Lamont.
