State police: Victim of I-684 car crash identified as convicted murderer in country illegally
The victim of a recent car crash on I-684 was a convicted murderer who was unlawfully in the United States, state police say.
The incident occurred on April 14 on the northbound side of the roadway in Bedford. The vehicle, driven by an individual initially identified as Jose Perez Rosa, veered left, entered the median at high speed, and collided with a tree. Rosa was killed in the crash.
The subsequent investigation revealed that the Rosa had been using a false alias. His true identity was Mario Goris, 53, from the Bronx.
Goris had been convicted of manslaughter in the 1995 murder of a man in Queens. Following his parole in 2011, he was deported to the Dominican Republic by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service. However, Goris managed to re-enter the country at some point under an alias.
News 12 has attempted to reach out to federal authorities for further information regarding Goris but has not yet received a response.
