Officials have issued a burn ban for New York City, Long Island and the Lower Hudson Valley from March 9 through March 16.
This comes after a series of brush fires occurred throughout the boroughs and Long Island over the weekend due to continuing periods of dry weather.
Officials are reminding New York residents not to start any outdoor fires for any purpose as it can increase the potential for wildfires and put their health, safety and property in danger.
