Businesses on Arthur Avenue were open Friday despite bitter temperatures and slick conditions.
Store owners told News 12 that the cold and snow are bad for business. They said they had to close their doors early Thursday afternoon because of the storm and found traffic to be very slow Friday.
"Friday night is a busy night, but right now it's not," said David Greco, co-owner of Mike's Deli on Arthur Avenue.
Shoppers who did visit the Arthur Avenue marketplace said they enjoyed having the stores to themselves.
Some food vendors said the hot soups they sell during cold weather makes the trip worth it.
