We could see a few stray thunderstorms popping up this evening as we come out of the heat of the day. A quick pocket of rain or downpours could accompany it. Beyond that, it will be dry and quiet overnight, but staying toasty with lows in the 70s.

Another day of major heat is expected for the borough. We have a heat alert in place until 8 p.m. for intense levels of heat and humidity. Highs will soar into the 90s on Wednesday with afternoon showers and storms possible as we head into later parts of the day. The main concerns with these storms are the possibility of isolated severe weather that could bring damaging gusts of 40-60 mph and small hail.

These will bring us a break in the heat. Temperatures will return to around normal and cooler than normal for the rest of the week.

Unfortunately, Memorial Day Weekend looks to not be fabulous weather-wise. Dreary, cool, rainy, and dank conditions will join us throughout the weekend.
