This brief break in the parade of storms ends Friday night as snow showers return by about noon on Saturday. While it will still be dry Friday night, it will feel frigid with feels-like temperatures briefly dipping down into the teens. Saturday morning plans will also be snow-free. Snow showers become a steady, if not moderate snow by sundown, and some slushy accumulation is expected. The snow will initially have a tough time sticking because of temperatures near or just-above freezing. More accumulations expected on colder surfaces. The snow will transition to a wintry mix, then rain throughout the evening. It will be a soaking rain at night, contributing to ponding and minor flooding in spots. There will be a lull in the rain Sunday morning and midday as warm air sneaks in before a line of thunderstorms late Sunday afternoon and evening. Expect some downpours between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Behind the thunderstorms Sunday evening, another arctic invasion of frigid air arrives early next week. Highs will be in the upper-20s, and lows will be in the teens. Feels-like temperatures at night could reach zero degrees or below. This sets the stage for the next potential storm in this parade of storms midweek next week. There is a growing chance it is "too cold to snow" again but a perfect storm track could also yield significant snow. Lots of uncertainty will remain until this weekend's storm departs, so crucial updates will arrive early next week.
