A flood watch is in effect for the NYC area until 6 a.m. on Monday.

News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Allan Nosoff says rain will be very heavy at times and scattered flooding is likely.

  • Torrential downpours possible around midnight through 5 a.m. Lighter showers expected between the downpours.

  • Rain tapers off after 5 a.m. Flooding still possible in prone spots even after the rain ends. Mostly cloudy Monday, just a passing shower or sprinkle through midday.

MONDAY: STORM WATCH AM: Rain tapers off during the start of the AM commute. Watch for flooding in prone spots. Otherwise mostly cloudy. Highs around 82. Lows down to 70.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny and hot. Highs jump to 90. Feels like 92 to 94. Lows near 75.

WEDNESDAY: Hot and humid again. Highs up to 93. Feels like 95 to 97. Lows around 76.

THURSDAY: More of the same. A stray PM pop-up storm can't be ruled out. Highs around 92. Feels like 94 to 96.

FRIDAY: A few more clouds, hot and humid. Late-day storms are possible. Highs just shy of 90. Feels like 90+. Lows down to 73.

NEXT WEEKEND: Not the best but not a washout. Very warm and humid with highs in the mid-80s. Lows in the low 70s. Better rain chance Saturday as of now.
