Hunts Point produce market sees busy day ahead of Thanksgiving

The Hunts Point produce market will see one of the busiest days of the year Tuesday ahead of Thanksgiving, according to employees.
With Thanksgiving just two days away, workers at the facility are preparing 30 million pounds of fruits and vegetables for customers all over the tristate.
Sitting on more than 100 acres, the facility is the largest wholesale produce market in the world and caters to restaurants, grocery stores and bodegas.
Business owners were stocking up on essential Thanksgiving produce like, sweet potatoes and cranberries.
Local business owners purchasing items say a lot goes into the distribution and sale of produce before it gets to their customers' table for the holiday.
"We're prepped for weeks in advance so when the day comes, everyone's going through the motions. They know what they're doing so it's exciting. Everyone is kind of pumped," Gabriela D'arrigo says.
