Fans who had 'The Right Stuff' had a chance to meet New Kid on the Block Donnie Wahlberg in Port Jeff Station Friday afternoon.
For a week leading up to the event, the Wahlburgers location held a raffle for fans to win a chance to meet Wahlberg.
"Long Island is such a great place, has been so good to me, to New Kids, to my family," Wahlberg says. "I mean, as far back as my career Jones Beach 1988 but also Westbury Music Fair. We got our first gig ever opening for Tiffany. That was really the big break we needed in our career. The crowd was crazy, the girls were screaming and 30 years later and it hasn't stopped."
Wahlberg took time off from filming "Blue Bloods" and getting ready to perform with the New Kids on the Block on New Year's Eve to visit the burger joint he co-owns with brothers Mark and Paul. While there, Wahlberg signed autographs and took photos with lucky fans.
The Wahlburgers chain has 26 restaurants, and the original location is in Hingham, Massachusetts. It has been featured on an A&E show of the same name, where all three brothers have appeared.
Wahlberg says he plans to come back for burgers when the New Kids on the Block tour stops at Nassau Coliseum in June.
