An infestation of mice has closed the dine-in AMC movie theater in Levittown.
Legislator John Ferretti alerted the Nassau County Health Department about the situation after moviegoers complained mice were stealing the show.
"We saw evidence of mice droppings in the seats,” he told News 12.
The theater closed its doors after the Health Department conducted a surprise inspection and found the infestation of mice. Theatergoers who arrived Friday were greeted by a sign saying the theater was closed.
There was no word on when the theater can reopen. It must pass another inspection before that can occur.
AMC released a statement saying, "We take this issue very seriously, and we are working around the clock to ensure guests can enjoy their movies at this location as soon as possible."
