A new seafood restaurant is giving Bronx residents on the go a taste of City Island in Morris Park.

Susan Hayes was born and raised on City Island and says she worked in restaurants growing up.

Hayes says some of her fondest memories when it comes to food is with other residents at her restaurant City Island Seafood Shack in Morris Park.

"City Island is part of the northeast Bronx but sometimes you don't want to sit in the traffic. So we thought it was a good idea to bring it here and have everyone having easy access to the taste of City Island,” says Hayes.

That taste includes fresh and seasoned seafood like a low country boil pot with snow crab, shrimp, clams and mussels.

"It's easy to share too. It's a ton of food,” says Hayes.

For those who don’t eat a lot of seafood, City Island Seafood Shack also features a lobster grilled cheese sandwich.

"I’m proud of it. I think everyone that comes in loves City Island too. We're proud of our product and we try to keep everything as consistent as possible,” says Hayes.
