New MTV 'True Life Crime' episode investigates Junior's 2018 murder

MTV's "True Life Crime" is taking on Lesandro "Junior" Guzman Feliz's story.
Junior was murdered by the Trinitarios gang in June of 2018. News 12's Anthony Carlo is also featured in the episode and talks about his coverage of the case.
MTV News host Dometi Pongo and social media influencer Sasha Merci dig to find clear answers to haunting questions.
"Sasha goes and talks to friends of his who tell us whether or not Junior was in fact involved in a gang," said Pongo.
The episode "Gang Target or Mistaken Identity" explores theories on why Junior was viciously murdered.
"If you're from the Bronx and you're in the community, you know who this kid was and you know he was a good kid," said Pongo.
Prosecutors built a case that the gang mistook Junior for a rival. However, during the trial, defense lawyers tried to paint a picture that the aspiring cop was not as innocent as everyone thought.
MTV spoke with people who knew Junior. Pongo also spoke with the bodega owner who was harshly criticized for not doing enough.
"When we interview him, we find out shocking revelations about what his life has been like since that day and his reaction isn't what it seems," said Pongo.
The episode airs Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 9 p.m.
