Netflix releases 'Lost Girls' trailer about Gilgo Beach murders

On the same day investigators in Suffolk County showed a new piece of evidence in the Gilgo Beach murder case, Netflix released the trailer for its movie on the subject - "Lost Girls."

On the same day investigators in Suffolk County showed a new piece of evidence in the Gilgo Beach murder case, Netflix released the trailer for its movie on the subject - "Lost Girls."
The film is based on the book of the same name written by Robert Kolker. 
In the book, Kolker delves into the lives of the victims, their families and the investigation surrounding the murders.

The movie trailer depicts Mari Gilbert, played by Amy Ryan ("The Wire," "In Treatment"), as she tries to unravel the circumstances around her daughter Shannan's death. 
The trailer's release occurred on the same day Suffolk County law enforcement officials held a news conference and revealed new evidence - a photo of an  embossed belt.  They also announced a new website, www.gilgonews.com, for details on the case and to collect information.
