A Norwood woman says she missed out on hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas this year because her building hasn't had heat or gas.
Lourdes Butler says she's been sleeping in the frigid cold, surviving without heat or gas, since the beginning of November.

There is a sign from the city Department of Buildings in the front lobby that says heat and gas would be shut off because of a pipe leak, but that sign was dated October 2019.

Butler says management gave her a hot plate for cooking, but she says it's really time-consuming.

She says her electricity bill has gone through the roof after relying on a few space heaters.

Butler says she received a letter from management that said the Department of Buldings was going to be doing a final inspection on Jan. 7 and then Con Edison could finish their job.  She says they came Jan. 7, but there is still no gas.
Butler tells News 12 that she has children who live in the borough who have been helping her out until the heat comes back.

News 12 contacted both the management company called Simply Better and Con Edison for comment.

Con Edison said it turned on the gas for 35 out of the 47 apartments affected, and that an inspection and test to return service to the rest of the units is underway.
