10-year-old Plainview girl and her mother make masks for local medical workers

A mother-daughter duo from Plainview is sewing and donating masks to local hospitals and nursing homes.
Rebecca and Stacey Wallenstein are part of a sewing network recruited through Facebook to help solve the protective mask shortage.
Rebecca Wallenstein's creations are colorful and fun, with prints ranging from tacos, to superheroes, animals and flowers.
The 10-year-old started working on the project shortly after her school, Pasadena Elementary School, shut down due to coronavirus.
The duo has churned out 70 masks so far.
"It makes me feel good to know I'm doing a good thing for all those people that are dedicating their time to others," said Rebecca Wallenstein.
