Cotton candy, funnel cake and pizza are all part of the summer experience at Coney Island, and the coronavirus pandemic isn't stopping that.
Starting this weekend, visitors to the Coney Island boardwalk will see concessions back open -- with safety measures in place.
Just off the boardwalk are markers on the sidewalk reminding customers to keep socially distanced while they wait in line. Hand sanitizer is just a pump away.
But attractions like the Wonder Wheel remain still, and the carriages are not assembled. The park is awaiting the green light to reopen.
In the meantime, New Yorkers can have a snack in the sunshine. At night, the Wonder Wheel will continue to light up in honor of front-line workers.
