As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the Bedford Stuyvesant Volunteer Ambulance Corps is in need of financial support in order to stay afloat. 

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the nonprofit hasn't been able to continue with the programs that bring in revenue.

That's why the group created a GoFundMe page with a goal of $50,000.  Treasurer Tamsin Wolf tells News 12 the money raised will quite literally be going right into the ambulance.

 “If you send us a dollar that’s not a dollar that goes to a salary, we don’t have any salary in place... it’s a dollar that probably goes into the gas tank or buys medical supplies,” said Wolf. 

Wolf says that if they don't receive the funds they've missed out on since the beginning of the pandemic, "We will not be able to run the ambulance until such time as when we get more funding and that would be extremely unfortunate.”  

Wolf says the organization has been through a lot and has touched many people's lives.

She's hopeful that they'll once again pull through and get the lifeline they've been giving the community for so many years.

“We have on more than one occasion faced adversity including economic challenges, and we are praying that people will help and that we will get over this,” said Wolf.
