In commemoration of National Hip Hop month and Family Literacy Month, Storyland: The Bronx Book Haven hosted an event of three panels Thursday night.

Discussions by the panelists of many artistic backgrounds varied in topics from marketing and promotion to the power of collaboration. Children's book author Kenneth "Pen Ken" Monroe helped organize the event & choose the panelists. "We're just all here to give knowledge and pay it forward," he shares with News 12.

His book series "Legends of Hip Hop" teaches kids about fundamentals like how to count, A-B-C's, and rhymes, while also teaching them about the history of Hip Hop. Monroe shares, "when kids get older and they say 'I learned about Tupac, Biggie, Queen Latifah, and Kid and Play from Pen Ken's books, that would be a blessing' ".
