‘Like a toilet’: Concourse residents fed up with subway station conditions
Resident in Concourse say they are frustrated with the conditions near the Yankee Stadium subway station.
Some residents say the area on 161st Street is being treated like a toilet.
Steven Harrison lives in the area and uses the pedestrian walkway regularly. He says the conditions sometimes consist of urine, partially because of how the staircase is blocked off - private with no lighting.
Harrison tells News 12 that he has been trying to work with the Department of Transportation to install more lighting along the staircase with the hopes that people won’t use the area as a restroom.
News 12 reached out to both the Department of Sanitation and the DOT on the issue, but are still waiting for a response.
