Students at Bronx Community College protested the lack of a functioning cafeteria on campus on Thursday.

They tell News 12 the school has been without food services for 18 months, leaving students with few affordable options in a nearby food desert.

The school's Common Ground Club is leading the charge, saying food insecurity is hurting student success.

News 12 reached out to CUNY and it said in a statement, "“Hostos and BCC have identified a new vendor and look forward to providing new dining services for students and faculty."
